Sansone & Lauber Law Office Serves as Toys for Tots Drop-Off Center

Christmas is a special time of the year for children across the St. Louis area. That’s why Sansone & Lauber is taking part in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program by serving as a collection point for toys that will be distributed to children throughout the community.

“No child should wake up on Christmas morning without presents waiting for them to open,” says Ben Sansone a partner in Sansone & Lauber. “It is part of the spirit of giving that makes Christmas special, and we are glad to participate in such a great campaign.”

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped in the collection box at Sansone & Lauber, located at 7777 Bonhomme Ave., #2000 in St. Louis. The donated toys will be gathered by Toys for Tots and distributed to needy children across the St. Louis area.

Toys for Tots donations are usually intended for children up to 12 years old, though some community campaigns extend it to help youngsters from 14 to 16. The organization doesn’t publish a list of toys to donate but asks people to select toys they might give their own children. Toys that look like real weapons or gifts with food won’t be accepted.

Coordinators pick up the toys from drop-off centers and keep them in central warehouses where they will be sorted by age and gender, and at Christmas the toys will be distributed by coordinators with the help of social welfare agencies, church groups and other community agencies to make sure the less fortunate children of every community receive them.

The St. Louis campaign is one of the many local efforts conducted for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a nonprofit charity, in more than 700 communities across 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

The foundation also buys supplemental gifts for pre-teens and teens such as sporting equipment and balls, books, backpacks, cosmetics and board games. Financial donations are accepted, and checks can be mailed to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA, 22172.

The foundation selects Marine Corps League Detachments and local community organizations to run campaigns as part of the overall Toys for Tots program.

We love the Christmas season because we know how much it means to our families and children. We want to make sure every child receives the spirit of giving this year. Get involved and make a child feel good.
